Friday, April 17, 2026, 11:00am

Storybook Theatre, Friday, April 10 at 11am, celebrate National Poetry Month with two special books. “A Foot in the Mouth: Poems to Speak, Sing, and Shout” selected by Paul B. Janeczko. Miss Jan will read excerpts from this fun collection of poetry. Then enjoy “Stop that Poem!” by Eric Ode. This fun depiction of poems being “active” and shaping and transforming our world helps children better understand what poetry is through words that fly through the air and come together to touch our hearts and minds

Author visit on April 17 at 11am with Barbara Belzer Adams, who will read Who’s a Good Duck? This sweet book is inspired by a true story about a woman and a duck with an injured wing who develop an unlikely friendship. Author Barbara Belzer Adams will read, then sell and sign her books until 12:15pm.

On April 24 at 11am we will be celebrating Children’s Day/Book Day (Celebremos El día de los niños/El día de los libros), with two special books. First, enjoy  “Book Fiesta!: Celebrate Children’s Day/Book Day (Celebremos El día de los niños/El día de los libros)”, by Pat Mora. Miss Jan and Miss Maria will be reading this joyful book together in English and Spanish to celebrate Children’s Day/Book Day (El día de los nios/El día de los libros). Then enjoy “Goodnight, Moon/Bonsoir Lune’ by Margaret Wise Brown. This classic story in English and French as the little bunny says “goodnight”/“bonsoir” to everything in his room!

Cultivate a lifelong appreciation for literature by introducing your child to the enchantment of reading at a young age. Storybook Theatre seamlessly integrates beloved childhood stories with engaging elements such as songs, rhymes, and fingerplays, fostering early literacy skills and enhancing language development in a dynamic and entertaining manner.
