Shadow Puppet Theatre in October
Thursday, October 30, 2025, 11:00am

Shadow Puppet Theatre, Thursday, October 2nd at 11am presents “A Big Mooncake for Little Star” by Grace Lin. Little Star loves the yummy Mooncake that she and her mama baked! Will she be able to resist just a little nibble when told she has to wait to eat it? This delightful story explaining the phases of the moon is a fitting tribute to the Chinese Moon Festival (Mid-Autumn Festival), which falls on Monday, October 6, this year.

Shadow Puppet Theatre, Thursday, October 9th at 11am presents “Douglas, You Need Glasses!” by Ged Adamson. We are celebrating World Sight Day with an endearing story about Douglas, a dog who doesn’t realize he needs glasses. His poor eyesight puts him in some sticky situations, such as chasing a leaf that he thinks is a squirrel! After an eye exam and finding the perfect pair of glasses, Douglas discovers all the wonderful things he’s been missing around him.

Shadow Puppet Theatre, Thursday, October 16th at 11am presents “When the Leaf Blew In” by Steve Metzger. This humorous story explains the chain reaction that occurs when one single leaf blows into the barn, starting with the cow sneezing “Ah Choo”!

Shadow Puppet Theatre, Thursday, October 23rd at 11am presents “It’s Pumpkin Time!” by Zoe Hall. A sister and brother plant pumpkin seeds in their garden and watch with wonder as the seeds eventually turn into their Halloween pumpkins!

Shadow Puppet Theatre, Thursday, October 30th at 11am presents “If You’re a Monster and You Know It” by Rebecca Emberley. This fun twist on “If You’re Happy and You Know It” follows some lively, child-friendly monsters as they stomp their paws and twitch their tails!

Included in the price of admission, which is $9 for adults and children 1 year and older. bit.ly/TWCMtickets  #ToddlerMom #Art #ChildrensMuseum #TheWoodlands #WoodlandsMom #BookReading #StoryTime #TheWoodlandsChildrensMuseum
