Shadow Puppet Theatre, Thursday, September 4th at 11am presents “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” by Bill Martin, Jr. & John Archambault. This favorite and beloved alphabet rhyme has all the letters racing to the top of the coconut tree. “Will there be enough room?”

Shadow Puppet Theatre Thursday, September 11th at 11am presents “Head, Body, Legs: A Story from Liberia” by Retold by Won-Ldy Paye and Margaret H. Lippert. This traditional Liberian tale was told by mothers and grandmothers to children to teach the importance of cooperation. Each part of the body is necessary and works with the other parts, just like each member of a family or community is necessary and helps the others.

Shadow Puppet Theatre, Thursday, September 18th at 11am presents “Pirate Princess, by Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen. Princess Bea prefers pirate ships over tea parties and other princess-like activities. When Captain Jack welcomes Bea aboard his ship, she struggles to prove herself seaworthy and comes close to walking the plank until her princess skills rise to the occasion and save the day!

Shadow Puppet Theatre, Thursday, September 25th at 11am presents “What Can You Do with a Paleta?” by Carmen Tafolla. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15), this story takes us on a walk through a young girl’s barrio, introducing children to the frozen fruity treat and showing all the creative things that can be done with a paleta.
