What I’m Adding to My Wellness Routine This School Year

IMG 5531
There’s something about the start of a new school year that always makes me want to reset a few of my own routines, too. This year, one of the things I’m focusing on is my health and wellness (nothing drastic, just looking for small things I can realistically work into my everyday life as a homeschool mom).

I’ve also started incorporating heavier weights into my workouts, so when I was offered the opportunity to try Clean Program’s Creatine + Collagen, I was interested. Creatine has been getting a lot more attention lately, particularly for women interested in maintaining muscle and strength as we age, and this seemed like an easy way to add it to my routine.

What’s in it?

Each serving of Clean Program Creatine + Collagen contains 5g of creatine monohydrate, which supports cellular energy production and muscle maintenance, along with 5g of grass-fed bovine collagen peptides to support joints and connective tissue.

Not gonna lie – I had to look up what these ingredients were all about, but once I did, I was pleasantly surprised to learn the benefits!

The formula also caught my attention because it includes organic ashwagandha and maca root, two ingredients I keep seeing come up as I read more about wellness over 40. Clean Program includes them to support areas such as stress resilience, energy, vitality, and hormonal balance.

And because gut health has been getting so much well-deserved attention, I also like that the formula was developed with digestive and gut barrier support in mind.

But does it actually taste good?

This is always an important question for me because a supplement can have the most impressive ingredient list in the world, but if I dread drinking it every day, I’m definitely not adding it to my routine.

Thankfully, this one is pretty good! It has a light vanilla flavor, and I’ve been experimenting with a few different ways to drink it.

Yesterday I added it to my cherry + spinach smoothie, and surprisingly, that was not my preferred way to have it. I could detect a slight chalky taste that wasn’t necessarily bad, but since a smoothie takes me longer to finish, I felt like I was tasting it for way too long.

My favorite method is much simpler: I mix it with about 6–8 ounces of almond milk. That’s it! The vanilla flavor works nicely with the almond milk, it’s an easy drink, and I can finish it pretty quickly. For something I’m hoping to make part of my daily routine, simple wins for me.

You can also mix it with plain water, which I found perfectly drinkable, but almond milk is definitely my pick.

So far, so good

I’ve only been using Clean Program Creatine + Collagen for about a week, so this definitely isn’t one of those “I tried it and it changed my life!” reviews. I simply haven’t used it long enough to tell you what difference it may make over time.

I do like what it offers though! I like the taste, and the most important thing for me is that it’s easy enough to incorporate into my day that I can actually see myself sticking with it.

(Oh, I should mention that collagen was another selling point for me because supporting my joints has become more of a priority lately, particularly after I started noticing a little discomfort in my knees when walking upstairs. Whew child!)

Will this supplement be the magic answer to that? I certainly can't say that after a week, but I’m at a stage where I’m paying more attention to strength, muscle, joints, energy, and overall wellness, and I like finding simple additions that support the goals I’m already working toward.

For now, Clean Program Creatine + Collagen has earned a spot in my new routine, and I’m enjoying it enough to keep going.
