Last week was my birthday, and yesterday, in the middle of a regular Tuesday, a beautiful white bakery box tied with a blue ribbon arrived at my door.
My husband opened the door, accepted the delivery, and brought it inside. The box was from Sister Bakery, a local gourmet cookie company based right here in the Tomball / Woodlands area, and friends… I was not prepared for what was inside.

First of all, these cookies are HUGE. Each cookie measured somewhere around 3.5 to 4 inches wide, but they’re also thick and rich, not flat or flimsy. I originally assumed our family of six would each grab a cookie and there would be one left over for me (as the birthday girl, obviously).
That is not what happened.
Instead, we sliced the cookies like little cakes so everyone could taste each flavor, and we STILL have leftovers.

Fresh, Rich, Gooey, and Beautiful
The cookies were still slightly warm when they arrived, which made the whole experience feel extra special. The outside had that perfect slight crunch, while the inside stayed soft, moist, chewy, and almost doughy (but not underbaked or messy). If you’re someone who loves cookie dough textures, you will absolutely love these.
And let me tell you right now: these cookies are SWEET. On a sweetness scale, I’d give them a 10 out of 10. They pair perfectly with cold milk, and I can also imagine warming one up slightly and topping it with vanilla ice cream.

One thing I especially appreciated is that each cookie felt intentionally different. Some were softer and creamier, some richer and more chocolate-forward, and some leaned nostalgic and playful.
My personal favorite was "The Favorite One" (duh!), which is their brown butter chocolate chip cookie finished with flaky salt. My second favorite was "The Sweet Talker," a caramelized Biscoff cookie with creamy white chocolate chips and crushed Biscoff cookies, filled with a smooth Biscoff spread. It even had an entire cookie (or maybe half of one!) sticking out from the top, which made me smile the second I opened the box.
The Cookies Have Personalities
We must talk about the adorable names of the cookies! Every cookie at Sister Bakery has its own personality and backstory, which makes the whole experience feel playful and memorable.
Here are the 7 flavors that I received:
- The Birthday Girl — sprinkle-covered cake batter cookie with vanilla buttercream filling
- The Southern Belle — banana cookie with vanilla wafers and white chocolate
- The Sweet Talker — the dreamy Biscoff cookie I mentioned earlier
- The Favorite One — brown butter chocolate chip cookie finished with flaky salt
- The Night Owl — deep chocolate and coffee cookie with buttery toffee pieces and melty chocolate
- The Overachiever — lemon cookie with white chocolate chips and Golden Oreos
- The Softie — brown butter and peanut butter, marshmallows, and chocolate chips
If you go to the website, you’ll see that each description reads almost like a little personality profile instead of a menu item, which makes the whole thing feel elevated and creative instead of just “here’s another cookie.” For instance, for the Southern Belle Cookie, the description reads: She’s a no nonsense straight talker—with just enough charm to get away with it. Polished and warm without trying, she doesn't chase attention - she holds it.
Meet the Owner: Almu

I love hearing the story behind local businesses, and Sister Bakery has a genuinely heartfelt one.
The company is owned and operated by Almu, a self-taught baker who created the company inspired by the relationship between her two daughters and the sisterhood they share. The bakery focuses on handmade, small-batch gourmet cookies with rotating weekly menus and limited “drops,” which keeps everything fresh and intentional.
According to the bakery, “The best things in life feel like coming home.”
I also love that Sister Bakery operates as a true small local bakery, not mass produced, not frozen, not sitting around in inventory. Every batch is made fresh to order, and you can taste the difference.
How Ordering Works
Sister Bakery operates through weekly cookie drops:
- Menus are announced on Fridays.
- Orders close Sunday night.
- Pickup happens Wednesdays in the Creekside/Tomball area.

If you’re wondering whether these would make an amazing birthday gift, teacher gift, girls’ night treat, graduation gift, or “I survived this week” reward for yourself…
The answer is absolutely yes.
