Recital season is heating up here in The Woodlands, and you fellow dance moms know the routine: the costume, the bun, and a little kid who suddenly cannot sit still.
As a dance mom (for far too many years!), I always love finding products that might make those busy afternoons a little easier. Here's one I recently learned about that could be worth trying out!
T is for Tame is a women-owned, certified natural hair care line made specifically for kids. It was created by a mom who was searching for something gentle and effective for her own twins, and it’s now used by hundreds of thousands of families. The products are vegan, cruelty-free, and free from some of the harsher ingredients often found in adult styling products.
I haven’t personally used these (I’m out of the little-kid hair stage over here!), but I do have them on hand, and they seem thoughtfully made. The packaging is bright and fun (easy to spot in a packed dance bag), the scent is light and kid-friendly, and I love the purpose behind the line: helping kids feel confident and put-together.
For dance families especially, a few standouts:
• Taming Gel – for sleek buns and updos without the crunch or flakes
• Taming Cream – smooths frizz and flyaways for that polished look
• Detangling Spray – helpful for post-practice knots or quick touch-ups
• Taming Wand (gel or cream) – perfect for last-minute flyaway fixes right before hitting the stage
If you’re in the middle of recital prep, this might be one to check out. I’ve seen great reviews, and you can find it locally at H-E-B, on Amazon, and at several other retailers – so it’s easy to grab when you need it.
