October is National Pasta Month, and what better way to celebrate than with a delicious meal at one of The Woodlands’ most beautiful dining spots: North Italia at The Woodlands Mall! I recently had the pleasure of dining here (gift card provided by restaurant), and as always, the experience was delightful. From the warm, modern ambiance to the freshly made pasta and cozy patio vibes, North Italia never disappoints. Plus, they’re adding even more community flavor this season with a series of family-friendly movie nights that include complimentary pasta samples and kid crafts.

Before I tell you what we ordered, here’s a bit of family-friendly news! North Italia is sponsoring Movies on the Lawn nights at The Woodlands Mall, and the lineup is as fun as it gets. Each movie night includes pasta samples and hands-on activities for kids. Mark your calendars!

How fun is this? Personally, I think it's the perfect reason to bring the family out for a cozy evening under the stars, especially as the fall weather really kicks in. Of course, I'll be adding these to the WoodlandsMommy.com Events Calendar so that it stays on your radar!
Now for the food (because wow)! North Italia just rolled out their seasonal specials, and butternut squash is making its annual appearance (I love butternut squash pasta dishes). But this time, I went with my tried-and-true favorite from the regular: the Chicken Parmesan. It’s a generous portion (I ate half and boxed the rest), and it’s everything you want in a classic Chicken Parm, just elevated a bit.
My husband ordered the soup of the day, which was hearty and flavorful with a little kick, and the Bolognese, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
But the star of the show? Without a doubt, the White Truffle Garlic Bread. Absolute perfection. I could have ordered three rounds and called it a day! In fact, I might just grab that appetizer to-go the next time I’m at the mall.

I also love the open kitchen concept at North Italia. You can see the chefs in action, and also the long, sleek bar adds a modern touch to the relaxed, unpretentious décor.
We ended our lunch date on a sweet note with dessert. I ordered the Brookie Sundae, which comes as a fun assemble-it-yourself setup. It’s a cookie base with vanilla, chocolate, and pistachio gelatos, plus mini chocolate balls, pecans, syrup, and fruit. Heavenly!
My husband went with the Affogato, a simple yet decadent treat of espresso poured over gelato. Both desserts were spot-on.
We love dining at North Italia midweek when the atmosphere is calm and perfect for conversation. During peak times, the lively energy makes it a great spot for family dinners, date nights, or a girls’ night out. And yes, they have a kid's menu with pasta options, pizza, chicken, and more!
All of their pasta is made in-house from scratch daily, and it truly makes a difference. The restaurant combines modern Italian flavors with an approachable, community feel (and an affordable menu), and that dreamy patio gives it a hint of boho charm.
If you haven’t been yet, consider this your invitation to celebrate National Pasta Month in the most delicious way possible.
