If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to leave the car behind and let someone else handle the drive into Houston, September is a great time to give it a try!
In celebration of Commute Solutions Month, The Woodlands Township is offering Free Fare Fridays on The Woodlands Express every Friday in September 2026.
That means you can ride completely FREE on:
- Friday, September 4
- Friday, September 11
- Friday, September 18
- Friday, September 25
No ticket is needed. Just show up, grab a seat and enjoy the ride!

Why Are Rides Free?
Free Fare Fridays are being offered through a partnership between The Woodlands Township and the Houston-Galveston Area Council's Commute Solutions Program. And with four Fridays of free rides, you've got several chances to see whether The Woodlands Express might make your Houston commute a little easier.
