Enjoy Free Shakespeare Under the Stars at Miller Outdoor Theatre , July 30 - August 8

shakespeare festival

Looking for a memorable summer evening that won't cost a dime? The Houston Shakespeare Festival returns to Miller Outdoor Theatre with professional performances of two beloved Shakespeare classics, all completely free.

For families, it's also a wonderful way to introduce children to Shakespeare without the pressure of a classroom setting. My family has attended a couple of performances over the years, even before my girls were old enough to understand everything happening on stage. We'd spread out a blanket, unpack a picnic dinner, and simply enjoy the experience together. It made Shakespeare feel approachable and fun, and the girls were exposed to live theater in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Since 1975, the Houston Shakespeare Festival has brought high-quality, accessible Shakespeare performances to the community each summer. Produced by the University of Houston School of Theatre & Dance, the festival features talented UH students performing alongside seasoned professionals.
