If you’re looking for a fresh way to get outside and maybe make that walk or jog feel a little more exciting, this is such a neat idea happening just down the road at City Place. They’ve launched a brand-new experience that combines fitness, nature, and music, and it’s not your typical trail walk. Here’s how it works…
City Place has partnered with a fitness app called RunGo and a Houston-based chamber orchestra called ROCO to create a music-guided walking and running trail. As you move along the circular path, you’ll hear beautiful, professionally recorded orchestral music that’s timed to your route.
So instead of just popping in your earbuds and hitting play, the experience is actually designed to flow with your movement and surroundings.
You can:
- Take a slow, peaceful walk
- Go for a more focused workout
- Or just enjoy something a little different with the kids or a friend

The trail itself is about 1.3 miles and loops around the scenic waterfront at City Place Park, starting and stopping just steps from the Marriott's lobby. (It also connects to the larger Spring Creek Greenway, so if you’re feeling ambitious, you can keep going.)
To try it, you’ll just scan a QR code at City Place, or find the route inside the RunGo app. Then pop in your headphones and go.
When the app needs to give you directions, the music automatically lowers, then comes right back in. It’s meant to feel seamless, almost like you’re part of the performance.

Public Event on May 9 Will Illuminate Community Trails with Music, Light, And Motion
The RunGo/ROCO trail will debut during a community-wide public celebration on Saturday, May 9, transforming the park into an illuminated gathering space that blends performance, recreation, and social connection. The evening begins at 5 p.m. with a lively outdoor market and interactive musical performances by School of Rock Spring, followed at 8:30 p.m. by a signature nighttime candle walk symbolically rededicating the trail. While supplies last, guests will receive color-changing LED candles to carry along the route, accompanied by pop-up bars serving complimentary refreshments, including curated zero-proof cocktails.
Whether you go for the event or just try it on a quiet morning, it’s a fun excuse to get outside and try something new.
City Place Plaza is located at 1250 Lake Plaza Dr. in Spring.
