Mark your calendars! A favorite family-friendly event is getting a new home in The Woodlands! The 2026 Children’s Memorial Hermann IRONKIDS Fun Run + Doggie Dash is heading to Northshore Park in The Woodlands, and it’s shaping up to be an unforgettable morning for kids, parents and even canine family members.
This beloved event gives children of all ages a chance to experience the joy of movement, confidence-building competition, and outdoor fun — all while promoting healthy habits. Running clubs and para-athletes are welcome, and every participant is treated like a champion. Each child receives a goodie bag with race bib, event shirt and earns a finisher medal — plus the bragging rights of being an official IRONKID!
Race Options for Every Little Mover
Races will begin between 9:45 and 10:00 a.m., with age-appropriate distances to keep everyone smiling:
- Diaper Dash (26.2 ft.) – Independent crawlers under age 2
- Toddler Dot Trot (80 ft.) – Independent walkers ages 1–3
- Half Mile – Ages 3–8
- Mile – Ages 5–17
And don’t forget the pups! The popular Doggie Dash starts by 11:15 a.m., offering half-mile and mile options for dogs 6 months and older. All dogs must be vaccinated, leashed and accompanied by an adult handler. Each dog receives a goodie bag with race bib, event bandana and a finisher medal.
More Than Just a Race
Arrive early and enjoy a full morning of family fun at the interactive village! Activity booths open at 8:30 a.m. and include:
- Mascot meet-and-greets
- Snow cones (plus, a coffee truck for parents)
- An obstacle course, games and crafts
- Ambulance tours
- Photo opportunities
- Health education information
A group warm-up and program kickoff begin at 9:30 a.m., setting the tone for a series of feel‑good races.

*Goodie bags may also be picked up the morning of the race at Northshore Park.
