Memorial Hermann Broadway at the Hobby Center will present the North American tour of the critically acclaimed Broadway musical Water for Elephants from January 27 through February 1, 2026. Based on Sara Gruen’s bestselling novel, the show tells the story of a young man who, after losing everything, jumps a moving train and finds a new life—and love—with a traveling circus.

The Broadway musical has a book by four-time Tony Award® nominee Rick Elice (Jersey Boys, Peter and the Starcatcher), a soaring score by the acclaimed PigPen Theatre Co. (The Tale of Despereaux), with tour direction by Ryan Emmons, recreating the original direction by Tony Award nominee Jessica Stone (Kimberly Akimbo).

Critics are praising the musical's spectacular circus acts, stunning choreography, innovative puppetry (especially for the elephant, Rosie), and emotional impact, hailing it as a unique, breathtaking theatrical experience combining drama and dazzling spectacle.

WoodlandsMommy Content Advisory: From info we were able to find online, the show may include flashing lights, loud noises, haze, strong language, violence, and mature themes.
