Something few people know about me: Very few people know that I have written a book for mommies because I stink at marketing...not to mention, I'm a little busy mothering. It is called Live, Love, Laugh and Laundry?
Magazines I subscribe to: Seeing the Everyday, Taste of Home, Proverbs 31 and Focus on the Family are my favorites.
First job:
My first job was picking and selling the neighbors flowers back to them. One neighbor was kind enough to buy one, and then wise enough to call my mom and get me fired.
Favorite meal to prepare at home: I LOVE to cook, so this one is hard. I make chicken tortilla soup and Chinese stir fry with fried rice at least monthly, so those two meals must be my favorites.
Favorite childhood book or story: I loved The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin. The illustrations and verbiage entranced me as a child.
How I discipline my kids: Losing the privilege of play time usually strikes enough fear in my younger ones to keep them moving in the right direction. A potty mouth gets washed clean with a little soap or a trip to the bathroom with me is always a last resort. Consistancy when they are little provides for less bumps in the road in their teens. A heart to heart talk is usually all it takes with the older ones.
Three things on my long term to-do list: 1) Write 2 more books 2) Enjoy my grown kids with my husband. 3) Play with future grandchildren regularly.
Last movie I saw at the theater: The Fifth Quarter.
How I spend my Friday evenings:
Friday nights are reserved for family activity. We provide a neighborhood Friday night Bible study in our home for kids of all ages once or twice a month. My husband and I enjoy a breakfast date alone every Satuday morning.
Favorite store-bought or restaurant-bought dessert purchase (and where can we find it)? The Black-Out Cake at the Cheesecake Factory is definitely my favorite!!
Something currently in your purse that has a good story behind it (and tell us the story): A passy and a nursing cover. Since my children range in age from almost 20 to 3 months, I have been pregnant or nursing for about 20 years. I have had a passy and a nursing cover with me continuously in my purse for almost 2 decades. You will be glad to know not the same ones. I should have bought stock in these items years ago, because I am constantly replacing them since leave them EVERYWHERE!!
Best way to spend $50: I'm not sure about the best way to spend 50 dollars, but I can say that the QUICKEST way for this family to spend it is on food!!
My life... ...is never dull. I was created with a purpose and living out my calling both energizes and exhausts me. I love serving my husband and training our children. I am thankful to have a godly husband and to home school our blessings.
