Summer has taken on epic proportions! Superheroes will come to train during the Summer of Epic Adventure at the Children’s Museum of Houston. Beginning Memorial Day weekend, May 24, through Labor Day, Sept. 2, 2013 the Museum will power up and transform into The League – an elite, superhero training institute complete with superhero teachers, action-packed activities, daily epic showdown live performance, character appearances and extraordinary events, so that YOU (the superhero trainee) can beat boredom and all that stands against summer fun!

Games, balloons and oh-so-much fun. That’s what The Woodlands Mall is planning for Saturday, June 22 when the center hosts a Summer Kids Fest with a carnival theme. “We want to celebrate summer with all our little friends in the area. And what’s more fun than a carnival! With games and activities, it’s like a birthday party where the whole neighborhood is invited,” says Noemi Cortez, marketing manager at The Woodlands Mall. “We have a fun-filled morning planned and hope that everyone will spread the word and come join in.”

The South Montgomery County YMCA and The Woodlands Kiwanis Club is hosting the Kiwanis Kids YMCA Youth Triathlon on Saturday, July 27th, 7:30am at the Branch Crossing YMCA.  Children, ages 7 – 12, (as of 12-31-13) are eligible to register and experience the fun and excitement of triathlon. It’s a morning of friendly competition and physical activity that can lead to a lifetime of fitness. This is the 4^th race in the Kiwanis Kids Series 2013. All races are sanctioned by USA Triathlon.

Triathlon is an exciting sport for young children because it involves three activities that every child enjoys – swimming, cycling and running. Triathlon is an individual event with segments running consecutively until all three elements are completed.

Woodlands parents can get excited about buying shoes for their kids this summer. Walking Tots will celebrate its official grand opening on July 26, at 3091 College Park Drive, Ste. 196 in The Woodlands.
