Did you break the law today? If you have a child between the ages of 5 and 8, you may have violated the new Texas car seat law when you drove them to school this morning. As of September 1, 2009, children up to the age of 8, or who are not yet 4‘9“ tall, must ride in a child safety seat. Children over the age of 8 or taller than 4’9” are not required to sit in a booster seat. This law is an upgrade from the previous law which only required children up to the age of 5 or 3‘ tall to ride in a child safety seat. |
