Sensory-Friendly Day for Your Child with Autism

On Monday, October 9 from 10am - 3pm, the Childrens Museum of Houston will host an exclusive event for children with Autism. Sensory Friendly Day is an opportunity for kids with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and sensory processing differences to explore the Museum.  Doors will be closed to the public.  There will be no music, and sound-reducing headphones will be available.  This is one of the few opportunities when outside food and drinks will be allowed, as Fresh Café will be closed.  Pre-registration required and can be made by contacting  Lydia Dungus at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Houston Ballets Creative Movement:  Stimulate your imagination and get creative through dance.
Event Time:  10 a.m. to noon in PowerPlay Alcove. 

Harrison Music TherapySoothing sounds and musical notes will be a free form tune of expression.
Event Time:  10 to 11:45 a.m. in Celebrations. 

Faithful Paws:  Fuzzy, friendly and fluffy all over!  Therapy dogs are sure to bring a smile.
Event time:  10 and 11:30 a.m. in Tree Top. 

Success on the Spectrum:  Take a wild journey through a socially interactive story time presentation.
Event Time:  10:30, 11, and 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Parent Resource Library.
